Spirit of Victory Outreach Ministries was founded on January 6, 2019 by Pastor Janard and Lady Shuntay Lakes, birthed out of a vision to establish a ministry centered on the mission to Love God, Love His People, and Advance His Kingdom. What began in a small building on North Saginaw Street quickly became a gathering place filled with faith, worship, and a passion to reach souls. Though the space was modest, the Spirit of the Lord was mighty, and people were drawn to the presence of God that rested in the ministry.
 

As attendance grew, it became clear that God was expanding Spirit of Victory beyond its original walls. In a season of transition, the church moved into West Court Street Church of God, a temporary space that served as a place of worship, fellowship, and preparation for what was to come. This period marked significant growth, not only in numbers but also in spiritual maturity, as the church family committed to serving both one another and the surrounding community with unwavering love and compassion.
 

By 2021, the ministry had entered a new chapter of increase. Each service was filled with the presence of God, and the vision to do greater works for the Kingdom became more evident. With faith as our anchor, the Spirit of Victory family prayed, sowed, and trusted God for a permanent home. Then, in January 2022, God’s faithfulness was revealed in a miraculous way—Spirit of Victory Outreach Ministries purchased its very own building completely debt free. This blessing was not just the fulfillment of a dream, but a testimony of what God can do through obedience, unity, and faith.

Today, Spirit of Victory stands as a vibrant and growing church committed to transforming lives, strengthening families, and uplifting the Flint community and beyond. What began as a vision in the hearts of our founders has become a movement of believers dedicated to worship, discipleship, and outreach.
